Cable Beach and more of Broome

We spent a lovely day at Cable Beach!  We had planned to go for an hour or so as we had no shade but found you could hire an umbrella with recliners, boogy boards and sand toys!  Well that was us!

Now this is a better view!

These umbrellas are just where the patrolled swim area is and the rest of the beach is untouched if you prefer that...

Jack - what happened to your body??

Oh no!  It's contagious!!!

Oops - this shows we were still there into late afternoon....

We spent quite a bit of time at the lovely pool at Cable Beach Caravan Park and met up with a family from Melbourne that we had met before at Kununurra so the kids all played in the pool.

There was also some down time....
Note that Phil is reading a book!!

We went to 'Sun Picture Theatre' - the oldest operating outdoor cinema in the world in Broome's Chinatown.  The flight path is just to the right of the screen and about half a dozen times during the screening of 'Madagascar 3' we had planes flying almost directly overhead!  Phil kept trying to get a photo but it was amazing how the planes were hard to hear until they were on top of you!

This was the best attempt at a photo.  You can make out the plane's lights at the top right of the screen.

Matso's Brewery was also really interesting - they brew beer locally and bottle about 6 flavours (which you can order online) but make quite a few more.  You could try a tasting platter - our favourite were the Mango Beer and alcoholic Ginger Beer but "Hit the Toad' was pretty good too.  I must admit the Chilli Beer was interesting!  Very hot!
