Happy 4th Birthday Jess! Welcome to Broome!

What a wonderful place for Jess's 4th birthday!

First she woke up and opened her presents in the caravan and then we went and looked for dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point, followed by breakfast at the Town Beach Cafe - situated right next to a playground and small waterpark which Phil and I thought was great!  We'd heard about this cafe and playground on our friend's website (Bec and Paul), when they did a similar trip and blog last year with their kids so we kept driving around until we found it!  Needless to say we visited there a few times while we were in Broome and when Phil saw it was for sale, he even suggested we think about buying it!  I could just see us running a cafe!!! Perhaps not...

Next we went shopping for a new bike - a black one with purple and green!  No pink for our Jess!
Then to cap it all off we went for a camel ride on the beach!  Jess and I were on 'Wun'  and Phil and Jack were on the old man of the group 'Kabul'.  They were lovely placid animals and Jess especially loved it and kept wanting to go again!
Thanks Grandma and Grandad!
Collecting the haul from the end of her bed!

Jack gave Jess some lego!

Loved the camel and this was before she went on one!

These are the casts of the footprints for those who don't want to clamber down the slippery rocks!

We found them!  Not that easy when there are no directions and you are one of the first there!
Quite awesome when you learn they are 130 million years old!

Anastasia's pool - a natural pool halfway up the cliffs, modified by a lighthouse keeper for his wife as it helped her arthritis to bathe in the warm ocean waters which filled it at high tide!!

Sea eagles nest on the lighthouse!

Town beach cafe with playground just to the right of photo

I was watching the kids but should have been facing this stunning view!

Old man Kabul!

Saying thankyou to these majestic animals!

What an end to a great birthday!

Our photographer didn't realise you are supposed to get the sun in a sunset shot...
Better luck next time Jack!
